Apartment Updates: Bowood Headboard and Sarah K Designs Bedding

Matters are actually starting up to decide up steam in the apartment! I’m always sharing real-time updates on Instagram but I preferred to submit some a lot more pictures of the new headboard below mainly because I love it SO much. I’m so happy that Jen and I made the decision on making use of Bowood for this piece. To say it’s been reworked is an understatement. As you may bear in mind, the headboard is the Pondicherry from Serena and Lily, in a grey linen that they made available. I preferred it but was by no means around the moon about it, and immediately after a few yrs it definitely had a few stains and was in want of a makeover. I briefly regarded obtaining a distinct headboard altogether, or a bed (I actually preferred a brass mattress!), but in the end we decided that reupholstering this was the very best possibility. I’m basically truly glad we have been in a position to reuse something I currently experienced – and observing it in this new cloth has created me know how a great deal I truly enjoy the shape and strains of it. Like, Enjoy!

We utilised Jen’s upholsterer for this challenge, and I know I’m a terrible blogger simply because this would be a great deal much more attention-grabbing or instructive for men and women if I experienced like, DIY’ed it! Or extra exciting if I’d located it secondhand or what have you. Alas, I am not a DIYer and I am not fortunate more than enough (or patient adequate) to obtain a piece like this secondhand! So we applied a skilled and I’m thrilled with how it turned out. It’s just spectacular and very seriously would make the place. I have generally preferred Bowood but I have to say, it is even far more impactful and lovely in individual. Also required to observe that I utilized Bowood Union, which is the model which is a combine of cotton, nylon and linen. Normal Bowood is 100% cotton and arrives in a number of colorways. My colorway is green/gray. I chose this since there are two neutral colorways of the 100% cotton Bowood – inexperienced/grey, or white/leaf (there are also blue and pink variations). The green/gray had a pretty beige floor, and the white/leaf experienced a really white floor. It was really hard to come to a decision due to the fact I favored both in different methods – the beige floor experienced a fairly tea-colored, antique seem, but the white/leaf was really clear on the lookout. Thankfully there was a great remedy – Bowood Union in eco-friendly/gray. It has a beige floor that is not AS beige as the other version – so it is critically the excellent medium involving the two. Perplexing, probably! I felt it was important to do my analysis and see all of the colour and cloth choices right before picking out, so I’m happy I did that.

I also required to share how a great deal I adore my Sarah K. Models bedding! I uncovered it as a result of (who else?) Louise Roe, and just had to have it – even while figuring out Uk sizing was a bit of a head-scratcher. I’ve generally just been wholly enamored with ditsy florals so there was no dilemma in my thoughts that I necessary this duvet and pillow set. It’s so pretty and charming. The colors, the print, the ruffles…just best. I have a whole dimension bed and I’m rather sure I got the United kingdom King dimensions. It suits properly and it’s really tender and comfy. (By the way, I really need to have to switch the drum shades – I’m considering of executing a pleated green material!). It’s actually unusual, I utilised to generally discover sleeping under my quilt super unpleasant and it felt definitely warm and as well weighty with a linen duvet address on it…but ever given that I switched to this one particular, I have no challenges and locate it truly comfy. Was it the quilt go over all this time that was the concern, not the quilt by itself?! I actually hardly ever suspected! Bizarre.

I just just cannot feel how substantially I love Bowood! It’s this sort of a best mix of emotion kind of classic and antique, but also new and lively. There is very little fusty or fussy about it. It is sort of a excellent material and I could go forward and do curtains in it way too, since it’s just so excellent.

Plenty extra updates that I will need to photograph and share – thanks for pursuing!
