Myrna’s important element is its wide shade, which was motivated by actress Myrna Loy’s signature floppy hats. L&G recreated the shape by including a slight bend to the material at hand, whether or not it’d be perforated aluminum, brass, stainless steel, or the studio’s new bent glass which has a distinctive, translucent materiality that appears almost stone-like. The tinted glass world provides heat, inviting readers into the cozy, softly illuminated house.
