Axatorpsgården · Happy Interior Blog
In my last blogpost I have taken you on a trip across Skåne, the southernmost province of Sweden. I have mentioned one of the bed & breakfast places I stayed at in the surroundings of Trelleborg: the Axatorpsgården B&B. Today I want to show you why this place left a lasting impression on me and why I cordially recommend this place for your visit to the region.
Axatorpsgården is not just a B&B to spend some days. It is a love project founded by the mother and daughter duo Janina and Elin. Janina bought this old thatched farmhouse and gave it a second life with her daughter Elin by transforming it into a beautiful Bed & Breakfast with history, charm, character, and a refined sense of design and styling. Whether it is a little flower from the garden in a thrifted vase or a vintage weaving hanging on the wall – the details tell how much attention and love have been given to this space.
The Axatorpsgården B&B offers only a few rooms so the atmosphere is always intimate, relaxed, almost family like. I enjoyed the silence (almost like Depeche Mode), took in all the colors of the surrounding nature, walked all over the place to look at every single little details of home decor placed carefully and thoughtfully in the space. And at the end I almost regretted not staying longer there – it is the perfect place to truly unwind and enjoy Skåne at its best!
But it all comes to life with the charms of the owners – Janina and Elin are wonderful humans who welcome you with a big smile, give you a little guided tour around the premises, and make delicious homemade food for you. Then it is up to you if you want to enjoy your meal in the rustic hall of the main house, or in the dreamy courtyard surrounded by chicken, or do you prefer to look out at the endless fields of Skåne? All doable at Axatorpsgården!
This blog post has been brought to you in collaboration with Visit Skåne. As always all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands who support this blog!
