Through and Through + All Over Blue at Design Miami
Based in Chelsea, New York City, Tuleste Factory has taken the show on the road to Design Miami/ 2022 with work by Facture by Quincy Ellis, Ian Alistair Cochran, Jt. Pfeiffer, and Yonathan Moore. The art and design gallery, founded by sisters Celeste and Satu Greenberg, has a roster of emerging and established artists and designers who create contemporary furniture, design objects, photography, and fine art. The show in Miami – Through and Through – is a curated collection with one thing in common: the color blue.
Many people will tell you that blue is their favorite color. It’s calm, full of possibilities, and distinguished with a history all its own. Ancient Egyptians had such regard for the cool hue that they created the first synthetic paint to mimic its depths. Modern artists, such as Picasso, have looked to blue to explore moods – remember the Blue Period? Meanwhile, Yves Klein loved the color so much that it is synonymous with his name.
In Through and Through, geometric shapes and varied tones set a serene experience in an avant-garde space that highlights the intricacies of the color blue. Acrylic, matte and clear resin, wool, and silk showcase its versatility through textures, transparencies, and saturations that create an even deeper connection.
